For the past week, i have been getting the following message when i visit a web site called *****.net (it is not a porn site, just a satellite site)
am using Malwarebytes anit ware software on my pc.
    The message is as follows:
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware
    Malwarebytes Anti-Malware IP Protection:
    Infection Detected: 124.217.250.76

Please note that above noted IP address is not my IP address

It also prevents me from accessing the site and drop out my internet connect and also the router. Looks like this IP address is allocated to someone in malayasia that i dont know.
    How i fix this problem:new_russian::new_russian::s5:

have used avg and malwarebytes software to check and clean the viruses and nothing comes up...
do you have any recommendations for any other anti virus software that i can use..

btw, why should the virus in my pc affect the router..
seems that only between 9.00 pm and 10.00pm every night, my internet does not work...:megere::megere:

Check your hosts file in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\

also you could download hijackthis and run it to see if you are getting a browser hijack

You would be checking the hosts file for entries other than 127.0.0.1 and the hosts file can be viewed using Notepad

Hijackthis run the scan with save log. This log file can be analysed to look for nasty entries.

And to rule out any DNS issues with the router recycle the power. Pull power from router for 30 secs then restart router and allow to cycle up, the process can take upto 2 mins. this should renew your IP address with the ISP provided that things are setup for DHCP unless you are on a fixed IP

Try to visit some of the anti-virus sites to see if you are directed away or disallowed

What is your operating system XP Vista Windows 7?

    just to give update..
ran the kapersky online virus scan and it detected virus " trojan.buzus.dtgb". Looking inot it further, i noted that none of the anti virus programs (avg, malwarebytes etc) that i was using picked that up. Also. i found that using spyhunter program , i could delete this virus which is my next step.
many thanks to Wolfens, doPeHeAd for your help and looks that i need some more...as i am not out of the mess as yet......:give_heart:

Trojan Remover aids in the removal of Malware - Trojan Horses, Worms, Adware, Spyware - when standard anti-virus software either fails to detect them or fails to effectively eliminate them. Standard antivirus programs are good at detecting this Malware, but not always so good at effectively removing it.
Trojan Remover is designed specifically to disable/remove Malware without the user having to manually edit system files or the Registry. The program also removes the additional system modifications some Malware carries out which are ignored by standard antivirus and trojan scanners. Trojan Remover scans ALL the files loaded at boot time for Adware, Spyware, Remote Access Trojans, Internet Worms and other malware. Trojan Remover also checks to see if Windows loads Services which are hidden by Rootkit techniques and warns you if it finds any. For each identified Trojan Horse, Worm, or other malware, Trojan Remover pops up an alert screen which shows the file location and name; it offers to remove the program's reference from the system files and allows you to rename the file to stop its activation.

Most modern Malware programs are memory-resident, which makes their de-activation more difficult. How many times have you been told to start your computer in 'Safe' mode, or even worse, in DOS? Trojan Remover does all this for you. When it finds Malware that is memory-resident, Trojan Remover automatically re-starts (on request) your system and completely DISABLES the Malware before Windows restarts.
Trojan Remover writes a detailed logfile every time it performs a scan. This logfile contains information on which programs load at boot-time, and what (if any) actions Trojan Remover carried out. The logfile can be viewed and printed using Notepad.
Trojan Remover is set to automatically scan for Malware every time you start your PC (you can disable this automatic scan if you wish).

    What's New in This Release:

    · Added new heuristic rootkit detection routines.
    · Added scanning of hidden Scheduled Tasks on Windows Vista and Windows 7.
    · Added checks of Windows Security Center service which is disabled by some malware.

Just to give you an update...
downloaded the spyhunter progarm and ran it on my pc and it detected some viruses which i deleted. Also, installed the Trojan.Remover.6.8.0.2585 and ran it on the pc. It found no viruses.
I disbaled the Malwarebytes program. Using the pc, itreied to access this site and i lost my internet connection and also could not access this site. I also cannot access the site that i mentioned in my original post. All other sites can be accessed. This is happening only on one of my computers. I can access this site from the computer sharing the router with other pc (which i cannot access this site). Pretty frustrating????:girl_cray2::girl_cray2::girl_cray2:

    Hey,

Download SUPERAntispyware. I use it and combined with Malwarebytes I'm covered. No need to reformat etc., etc.

Also try Trend Micros Anti Rook Kit Buster.

    Any questions, just PM me.

    Cheers!
